WHAT CERTIFICATE COURSES CAN I TAKE FROM IAP CAREER COLLEGE?
IAP Career College offers online certificate courses in non-traditional and dream careers. Our basic program is Online Certificate Courses with a suggested study time of 6 weeks part-time to help students launch a new business. Some of these courses can help you get started in a dream career that lets you work from home when you’re not working with clients. For example, you can learn how to become an Event Planner, Image Consultant, Interior Decorator, Motivational Speaker, Professional Organizer, Relationship Coach, or another dream career that lets you run your business from the comfort of your own home. Other basic courses give you valuable information for starting a dream brick-and-mortar business, such as an Art Gallery, Boutique, Brewery, Coffee House, Dance Studio, Spa, Wine Shop, or Yoga Studio, among others.
We also offer Master Professional Certification Courses in selected non-traditional careers. More information about the Master courses is provided further down this page. In addition, we now offer several short courses (3 hours or the equivalent of a half-day corporate training program) created by our sister college, IBMCC, that give an introduction to business skills including Business Etiquette, Business Events Management, and Business Organizing.
HOW MANY COURSES DO I NEED TO TAKE TO EARN A CERTIFICATE?
You need to complete only one course to earn a certificate in that career. For example, when you successfully complete the Event Planner Certificate Course you will earn an Event Planner certificate from the International Association of Professions Career College.
HOW LONG IS THE CERTIFICATE GOOD FOR?
Once you have earned a certificate from the International Association of Professions Career College it is good for life. It is like a diploma or degree in that way. It does not expire.
WHAT WILL I LEARN IN A CERTIFICATE COURSE?
Each certificate course includes a list of topics that are covered in the course on the web page for that course. You can navigate to the web page for each course using either the CERTIFICATE COURSES link at the top of each web page, or you can go to the top right of the page to the “List of Certificate Courses Online” then click on the little arrow to see all the courses you can select for more information.
I AM ALREADY WORKING IN THE CAREER SO WHY WOULD I WANT TO TAKE THE CERTIFICATE COURSE?
There are a number of reasons professionals already working in a career choose to take one of our 6 week certificate courses, beyond having a beautiful personalized certificate from the International Association of Professions Career College. When you take a course from IAP Career College you can receive up to three hours of a faculty member’s time not only for assistance with the course but for career and business advice. For example, if you already have a business you might want personal advice on setting your fees, marketing your business, getting more clients, or whatever else you need. WHAT ARE THE CREDENTIALS OF FACULTY MEMBERS?
The faculty and staff of IAP Career College have academic designations up to the Ph.D. level and have worked with students on six continents. In addition to academic credentials, our faculty members have “real world” experience to ensure they can provide the practical information students need to achieve career success. WHAT KIND OF TEACHING ASSISTANCE WILL I HAVE?
Our courses have been created to allow you to complete them without teaching assistance. However, if you have questions or need assistance, you can receive help from a Faculty Member for up to three hours (for example, one half hour per week for six weeks) for basic certificate courses. Master certification courses offer four hours of personal time with a Faculty Member. Please note that the 3 hour IBMCC Business Skills courses don’t include personal interaction with a faculty member.
Your Faculty Member is a valuable resource person and mentor who can provide you with personal teaching assistance to help you succeed in the course, and advice to help you succeed in the career. If you need assistance, you may submit questions by email or talk with a faculty member by Skype (free online communication by video call, voice call, or instant message through www.skype.com). After you register for a course you will receive information about how to contact your faculty member.
WHAT IS THE COURSE START DATE?
You can see the start date on the web page for each course. Although each basic course is scheduled for a 6 week period, you can complete the course in as little as 4 weeks or take your time and complete it in as many as 12 weeks from the official course start date. You can register in advance of the official start date or register later if the course is not full, so the official course start date is not the date you register. The official start date for any course is the date shown for “Course Starts” on the website at the time you register.
HOW LONG IS EACH COURSE?
These part-time courses have a recommended completion date of 6 weeks from the start of the program, however, you may choose to complete the course in as little as 4 weeks or as long as 12 weeks, depending on your schedule. What this means is that although the course has a scheduled start date, you can start at any point within the first 6 weeks as long as you are finished by no later than 12 weeks from the scheduled start date. You can also choose what time of day you wish to do your work because you can work at times that are convenient to you and fit within your schedule.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY REGISTRATION FEE?
You can find what is included for each course on the web page for that course. For the 6 week basic courses, your registration fee gives you an all-inclusive package consisting of: registration for the certificate course of your choice, access to a Faculty Member to provide you with personal teaching assistance and career advice, a textbook in e-book format (so you can read it on your computer), optional 2019-2020 professional association membership with many benefits for $2 per month, a personalized downloadable certificate sent to you upon successful completion of the course, and the opportunity to order certificates printed on fine linen paper and embossed with the gold seal of the college.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO TAKE A COURSE FROM IAP CAREER COLLEGE?
If you have been looking for a certificate or other educational program, you have almost certainly found that it can cost hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars to take other programs. We have found online courses based entirely on our guides with registration fees of up to $999 and more. Our basic courses are valued at $377, however, because we want to make our courses available to as many people as possible, you can now register for prices ranging from $77 to $97 depending on the topic.
WITH ALL THAT IS INCLUDED, WHY IS THE COST SO LOW?

IS YOUR $97 COURSE BETTER THAN ANOTHER COURSE I AM CONSIDERING THAT COSTS $3,000?
This is not actually a “frequently” asked question, but it is a real question that was asked recently. Our President compared it to buying a car: “Think of the IAP Career College course as a brand-new BMW that originally cost over $30,000 but has been discounted to under $10,000 because the company wants more people to be able to afford their wonderful product. The competition, costing 30 times more, is a brand new Rolls-Royce. Which one should you buy? (Actually, if you can afford a $300,000 Rolls-Royce, you can probably afford more than one car! Why not also buy that sporty yet practical BMW which will give you a fun ride and look great too!)”
WHAT IF THE REGISTRATION FEE IS MORE THAN I CAN PAY AT ONCE?
We realize even with lower fees than other certificate courses, the registration fee may still be more than some people can afford. If the registration fee is beyond your budget, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange payment in two equal instalments. The first payment is due on or before the course start date. The final payment is due 30 days later.
IS IAP CAREER COLLEGE ACCREDITED?
Yes. The accreditation is with the Better Business Bureau. If accreditation is important to you, we encourage you to thoroughly research any accreditation claimed by an online educational institution. Unfortunately, many claim to be accredited by fraudulent accrediting bodies (which you can find listed on Wikipedia).

IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE FOR YOUR COURSES?
AMI Scholarships provide a free IAP Career College certificate course for up to 100 students per year who are refugees or members of an Aboriginal, Native or Indigenous group recognized by Human Rights Watch as a disadvantaged minority. We are also in discussions with an international women’s organization to offer courses for no charge to the people they serve, and hope to introduce that program by 2020. In the meantime, if you are a financially disadvantaged person, you can contact us at email@example.com to let us know your situation and we will try to assist you. Courses registered for with a financial aid coupon are not eligible for 2-for-1 offers.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY CERTIFICATE COURSE?
IAP Career College accepts payment through PayPal, the world’s most trusted way to pay online. With PayPal you can make a payment from your PayPal account, your bank account, or your Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card.
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT?
If you don’t have a PayPal account you have a couple of options. One option when you register is to open an account with PayPal. If you would prefer not to open a PayPal account, it is not necessary to do so. You can pay through PayPal with your Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card without opening a PayPal account.
WILL THERE BE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES?
A few credit card companies charge a small fee (under $5) for charges processed in a different country. If that happens to you, let us know and we will gladly reimburse you for any nominal fee charged by your credit card company.
WHAT IF I REGISTER FOR A COURSE AND WANT TO TAKE A DIFFERENT COURSE INSTEAD?
If you change your mind about what course you’d like to take, you can transfer your registration to one other course any time up to the day before the official start date of the course for which you registered, at no additional cost. If you wish to change registrations more than once before the official start date of the course, there is a $25 fee per each additional change.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE OR CANCEL MY COURSE REGISTRATION?
It’s easy to make changes or cancel a course registration. Simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone us toll-free at 1-888-322-5621 in North America or call 1-778-383-9772 from anywhere in the world and tell us you want to change or cancel your registration.
If you want to cancel or are unsatisfied with your course, you may request a refund up to 60 days after the official start date of the course for which you registered. Individuals are only entitled to a refund on one course – more than one refund will not be given.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE AN EMERGENCY OR ILLNESS BEFORE OR DURING THE COURSE?
If something comes up such as an illness or emergency which prevents you from being able to start or complete the course within the 12 weeks, contact us at email@example.com, and an Academic Advisor can help you with rescheduling up to 6 months after the official start date. There is no fee for this rescheduling on compassionate grounds.
IMPORTANT NOTICE RE: COVID-19 – if you are not able to complete a course in the scheduled time, whether due to your own health, helping family members, or any other reason related to COVID-19, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org when you are able to, and we can extend the course completion date as long as you need.
WHAT IF THE COURSE I WANT TO TAKE IS FULL?
We know it’s disappointing when you can’t get into the course you want on the date you want, but because IAP Career College courses offer personal assistance from a faculty member, enrollment is limited to ensure our faculty can serve all students who want help. If a certificate course is marked as full, you can still take the course, but you will need to wait until the next date the course is offered. Email us at email@example.com and we will send you a link to the next course date as soon as it is available.
HOW OFTEN ARE COURSES OFFERED?
Most certificate courses start every month. Master certification courses will be offered only four times per year.
IS THE TEXTBOOK INCLUDED IN MY COURSE REGISTRATION FEE OR IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL COST?
A complimentary copy of the current e-book version of the textbook is included with your course registration fee. If you wish, you may purchase a print version of the previous edition of the textbook (if available). When you register for a course, you will receive a discount code to get the print version for half price, if you want it. However, it is recommended that you use the e-book version of the textbook for the course because it is the most up-to-date version of the textbook.
WHERE DO I GET MY TEXTBOOK FOR THE COURSE?
When you register and pay for a course, you will automatically be sent the current e-book version of your textbook by email. You can then download your textbook onto your computer.
ONCE I REGISTER FOR A COURSE, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY COURSE MATERIALS?
After you register and pay for a course your order will be processed within an hour. After that you will receive an email confirming your order and as part of that email you will receive instructions on how to download your course materials. Please read your Getting Started Letter thoroughly as it will explain everything you need to know about taking the course.
The Course Outline will contain the information you need to carry out each week’s assignments and other helpful information about your course. If you experience problems downloading any of your materials you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
WHAT IF I CANNOT FIND MY COURSE MATERIALS OR IF I DELETED THEM?
Once the course starts, you will be able to download your course materials by logging onto your account at the IAP Career College website at www.iapcollege.com. Here’s how to access your course materials on or after the course start date:
- Click on “Account” at the top of the page.
- If you are not already logged into the website, you will be taken to a page where you can log in with your user name (or your email address) and your password. If you have forgotten your password, click “Lost Password?” to recover it. Once you are logged in, click on “Downloads” on the left-hand side of the page and then click on the “Download” button.
- Once logged in, you will see following options:Dashboard
Click “Downloads” to see a list of your downloads. Click to download next to each item.
WHAT FORMAT IS THE E-BOOK TEXTBOOK IN?
The textbook is a PDF file. To download and read the textbook you need the current version of Adobe Reader. Most people already have Adobe Reader on their computer. If you need it, you can download it free at http://get.adobe.com/reader.
WHAT IF I HAVE A TEXTBOOK ALREADY BUT IT IS NOT THE CURRENT EDITION USED IN THE COURSE?
While you can use an earlier print edition of this textbook if you own one, we recommend you use the current e-book version because page numbers for review questions and answers correspond to the most recent e-book edition. The current e-book edition of the textbook will be sent to you at no additional charge after you register for the course.
WHAT IF I NEED HELP DOWNLOADING OR ACCESSING THE E-BOOK VERSION OF THE TEXTBOOK?
Downloading the e-book version of the textbook is very easy. All you need to do is click on the download link in the email that we send you, then locate the download on your computer and open it. However, if you experience any problems you can contact us at email@example.com. Someone will assist you within 24 hours and send you either a new link to download your textbook or an email with the textbook included as an attachment.
WHAT IF IT TAKES ME LONGER THAN THE SCHEDULED TIME TO COMPLETE THE COURSE?
Although the course program is scheduled for 6 weeks, students may choose to complete the course in as little as 4 weeks or as long as 12 weeks, depending on the student’s schedule. If you choose a different course completion date than the scheduled 6 weeks, you can change your final exam date to any time within 12 weeks of the start date of the course. It is not necessary to get permission from the college to do so; your exam will be marked when it is submitted.

WHEN I AM READY, HOW DO I WRITE MY FINAL EXAM? IS THERE A COST?
When you are ready to write your final exam, simply send an email to email@example.com with your name, the name of the course you are taking, and the start date of the course. We will then send you an email with a link to the final exam and an access code. There is no additional cost to take the final exam. It is included in your course registration fee.
HOW LONG AFTER I WRITE MY FINAL EXAM WILL IT TAKE TO FIND OUT MY MARK?
You will receive your mark online immediately after submitting your final exam.
WHAT MARK DO I NEED TO GET ON MY FINAL EXAM TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE?
Students require a 60% mark on their final exam to receive a certificate.
WHAT IF I FAIL THE FINAL EXAM?
Students who do the course readings should be able to pass the exam on the first attempt. Students require a 60% mark to receive a certificate.
Recognizing that some students may be anxious about taking tests, the final exam may be retaken once if a student is not successful the first time. Students who do not pass by their second attempt may retake the course for a reduced registration fee by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
AFTER I HAVE COMPLETED THE COURSE, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATE?
When you have completed the course and received a passing mark (60% or more) on your final exam, you will be emailed a link to download your personalized certificate. You can also receive an official printed certificate, which should arrive within a few weeks after it is mailed. Official printed certificates are personalized with your name printed on fine linen paper and embossed with the gold seal of the International Association of Professions Career College.
HOW DO I GET A PRINTED CERTIFICATE?
Once you receive your downloadable certificate you may print it and display it as you wish. You can also order official certificates printed on fine linen paper and embossed with the gold seal of the college.
HOW MUCH DOES A CERTIFICATE COST?
A downloadable certificate in PDF format is included with your course registration fee. Students who have successfully completed a course may also order official printed certificates for a fee of $35 U.S. for the first certificate ordered and $10 for each additional certificate ordered at the same time, plus $5.00 shipping and handling.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO EARN A CERTIFICATE? WILL I BE LICENSED TO WORK EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD?
If you complete a certificate course from the International Association of Professions Career College and pass the final exam, you will earn a certificate showing that achievement. Because it would be impossible for us to guarantee recognition by every individual and organization that a graduate might encounter throughout the world, it is up to you to determine if a certificate from IAP Career College will meet your needs.
Depending on the course topic, you may receive information about requirements for being licensed to work in that career in different jurisdictions. For example, our new Daycare Owner Certificate Course includes links to licensing requirements in different states and provinces.

WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS (IAPO)?
IAPO, short for International Association of Professional Organizations, is an association of several professional organizations including IAPO International Association of Professional Business Consultants, Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group, IAPO International Association of Professional Makeup Artists, and dozens more. These professional associations were created to provide services for people who are working as, or studying to become, a professional in their chosen career. IAPO professional associations offer graduates of IAP Career College certificate courses a way to stay connected with the college and other professionals working in the career.

IS THERE A COST TO JOIN AN IAPO PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION?
If you are a student of IAP Career College, you are eligible to receive a 2019-2020 membership in an IAPO professional association for only $2 per month. After that, you may renew your membership for a cost of $5 per month or $49 per year if you wish.
If you are not a student of IAP Career College, you may join the IAPO association for your career for a cost of $49 for 2019-2020.
DO I HAVE TO BECOME A MEMBER?
No. Students of IAP Career College are eligible to receive a 2019-2020 membership in the IAPO professional association related to the career they are studying (for example, students in the Interior Decorator Certificate Course may become members of the IAPO International Association of Professional Interior Decorators). However, membership is optional and you are not required to become a member of a professional association.
HOW DO I CANCEL MY IAPO MEMBERSHIP?
